Build Your Own Bug Out Bag

Just Like That…
Just like that – in a blink of an an eye – A significant disaster has just happened. Perhaps there has been an earthquake, or worse a major terrorist attack in your area. Quick – what do you do? After you make sure you and your loved ones are safe and accounted for – You rush to your bug out bag.
According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); the first 72 hour after a disaster are critical. Electricity, gas, water and telephones may not be able to reach you immediately during a serious crisis.
That is where your bug out bag comes in to play. Having all the necessary materials and supplies in a single bag will save you critical time, reduce stress and minimize your effort to begin riding out the disaster at hand.
It is recommended that your bug out bag contain enough supplies for the first 72 hours of the disaster.
FEMA acknowledges it may take this long for help and rescue personnel to reach those affected by a major disaster.
In addition to helping you survive a disaster – your bug out bag is also useful in navigating through other home episodes such as tornado events, power black outs – even days when you are simply snowed in.
